Kabarak University was established in October 2002 by the second President of Kenya, His Excellency Daniel Arap Moi,who is also the Chancellor. This was as a result of his visionary idea of setting up a Christian University that would meet the demand for higher education in Kenya and offer quality education based on string moral principles.
The University held is first graduation ceremony where more than 200 students graduated with different degrees. Since then the university has graduated over 2,000 students.
The School of Health Sciences now offers courses in Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Family Medicine, Public Health and Food, Nutrition and Dietetics and is tied to local hospitals that provide clinical sites for health programs

Out of good faith, PANAHF also donated medical books and computers on the day of screening to aid the start up of their School of Health Science.
