The official signing of the partnership with Takeda for the hypertension and diabetes screening was done on 28th August 2016 during the 6th Tokyo International Conference on African Development. This was the first TICAD held in Africa in its over 20 years of history. The conference discussed the thematic issues faced in Africa including industrialisation, social stability and health among others. The conference and signing was graced by His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta, the 4th President of the republic of Kenya and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
